EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
2 year associate degree in business (comparable work history will be considered) with AP/AR experience, 2 yrs. data entry experience and background in industrial distribution strongly desired.

Specialty Valve & Controls provides an engineered valve product for the power generation and process industry. Including paper mills, pharmaceuticals, chemical, and textile industry.
We cover North and South Carolina selling high pressure ball valves to power plants and valves of almost every description and application to the process industry. We have been in business since 1988 in this capacity. Our products are nationally known and cover a wide market range of customer needs. We also have in-house actuation and service capabilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
This secretarial position requires:

Understanding of Purchase Orders, Invoicing, Data Entry, Payables and Receivables.

Applicant must have 10 key skills on a calculator by touch type.

Work with existing customer base over the phone and direct sales calls to applicable inside sales individual.

Must be able to facilitate incoming calls and requests from our outside sales force.

Be responsible for logging and reconciling expense forms from the outside sales force.

Experience with shipping issues such as truck freight and UPS etc. helpful. Experience with UPS shipping software a plus.

Keep all literature files up to date and create in house catalogs for our company sales force.

Must answer telephone and have excellent phone etiquette.

Prior contacts and knowledge in the industry is a plus.

Must be comfortable with Windows 98 / XP, Word, Excel and functional data base programs.

Experience with unix based (or menu driven) accounting program (preferably Prophet 21) a plus.

Will be responsible for filing and records management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
2 years knowledge of AP/AR and shipping practices.

Possess strong interpersonal skills.

Working knowledge of MS-Windows XP and MS Office products.

Must be able to use data base software and internet communication software.
