Senior GIS Developer
**MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR SECURITY CLEARANCE**
Description:
The primary duty of the Senior GIS Developer will be to manage and support various research and development projects for Loyola?s customers. The projects encountered will challenge every aspect of the Senior Analyst?s resources, and as a result requires the ability to quickly produce solutions in the form of customized GIS tools, databases, and approaches to solve complex geospatial problems. The successful candidate will be a working member of several development teams, and be familiar with system design and development; user interface development and application integration; GIS data development and conversion; relational database design and implementation as well as documentation. Will be proficient in GIS data production processes and will possess an understanding of GIS and Remote Sensing concepts and techniques including projections and coordinate systems.
This position requires proficiency with ERDAS Imagine and ESRI ArcGIS for imagery and data development and manipulation. Loyola?s projects are deployed via the Web, which requires the ability to design, develop, test and deploy web-based applications. Experience with Oracle spatial, ESRI ArcSDE/IMS are necessary, and experience with Web-services is considered a plus.
Required Skills: 3+ years GIS programming with Visual Basic, ArcGIS, Arc SDE/IMS, ERDAS Imagine. Web-based mapping application development and deployment, HTML, and Javascript.
Preferred Skills: XML, .NET, Oracle Spatial, JAVA, ActiveX, web-based services.
Education: BS or MS degree in GIS-related discipline, Geography, Computer Science, or other related discipline.
