Senior Interaction Designer (Req 4821)

EFI is the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing.

 

We are searching for a Senior Interaction Designer that can create compelling, intuitive interface solutions for a wide range of EFI products. The Senior Interaction Designer will collaborate with internal teams to create the next generation of EFI products and will be the usability/design liaison to engineering during the implementation process. He/she will be responsible for creating truly expandable workflows and feature sets for large complex desktop  applications and will represent the end-users interests by effectively negotiating interactions between engineering, sales, marketing, and design.

 

? Create personas, process and task analysis based on customer visits and interviews.

? Design wireframes, flow charts, use cases and story boards.

? Present and manage deliverables throughout engineering and design processes.

? Advocate the end-user relentlessly.

 

Main Qualifications:

? Passion for information architecture, usability and design!

? 5+ years experience in software application design with an emphasis on usability and information architecture.

? 2+ years experience working directly with engineers during product implementation.

? BS or BA degree in Design, Human Factors, or similar (or equivalent experience).

? Expert knowledge of the user-centered design process and general usability principals.

? Mastery of Photoshop and Illustrator.

? Impeccable organizational skills with ability to maintain and document a schedule.

? Excellent problem solving skills.

 

Additional Pluses

? Background in Information Architecture.

? Knowledge and understanding of commercial print industry.

? Exposure to .NET, Swing, or SWT (Eclipse).
