Senior Quality Control Lab Technician, Flavors

Our client is a major flavor supplier to a wide variety of companies all over the world. They have been in the flavor industry for well over 100 years always looking for new innovations to develop new flavor technologies. Unlike other flavor suppliers our client serves both the food and beverage industries, from fruit juices, coffee and teas to savory meat flavors, ice cream and bakery products, they do it all.

 

On their behalf we are looking for a Senior Quality Control Lab Technician who under the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance and Control will test and evaluate raw materials and finished product in accordance with company procedures and manufacturing practices. The qualified candidate will require at least five years experience in a food laboratory environment and an Associates degree in Chemistry, Food Science or Technical related field.

 

Responsibilities include:
Performing organoleptic evaluation of all raw materials and finished products.
Qualifying materials from suppliers through physical comparative analysis and compiling relevant documentation and commercial data.
Following GLP and GMP and procedures to ensure consistent quality products.
Meeting government agency regulations.
Participating in flavor testing, triangle taste panels and sensory evaluation.
Maintaining company product database.
Assisting in the resolution of customer complaints.

 

Requirements include:
Associates degree in Chemistry, Food Science or Technical related field.
Five years experience in a food laboratory or related position.
Ability to use physical senses to evaluate quality.
