Senior Systems Development Specialist (5108)

Description

This position will provide technical assistance and project planning support for the Defense Information Systems Agency in the support of their transition to Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6). Strong experience in Internet Protocol (IP) routing, services, and applications is required. The ideal candidate would have an M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Computer Science (CS) with outstanding academic credentials. Candidate must be a self-starter with excellent communications skills to effectively interact with the client in the specialized technical area of advanced IP internetworking. Candidate should be familiar with the following:
'Protocols including IPv6, IPv4, TCP, UDP, RTP
'IP internetworking using standards based routing and control protocols including traffic engineering such as Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS)
'Advanced IP services such as IP Mobility, Multicast, and Quality of Service/Class of Service (QoS/CoS)
'IP network services including Domain Name Service (DNS) and Network Time Protocol (NTP)
'Network enabled applications and enterprise services
'Network planning, architecture and design
'Network security including firewall policy, intrusion detection and access-control
'Network management and operations principles
'Network Modeling and Simulation

 Required Skills

Experience with Microsoft Office applications ' Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, suitable for both the business and technical clientele

Able to work under tight deadlines in a team situation

Successful applicant shall possess excellent time management skills

An aspiration to work in a management consulting environment

 Required Experience

'M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with communication system emphasis and three to five years of engineering experience are required.
