Sr Facilities Drafter

Senior Facilities Drafter:

 

This position is responsible for preparing space plans and interior designs of offices, laboratories, shared areas, etc. to meet customer requirements/needs. This includes developing CAD layouts of cubicles, furniture, cabinets and fixtures to ensure office spaces are functionally efficient, attractive, and cost-effective and are compliant to or within the guidelines and limitations specified by the Facilities Engineer. This position is also responsible for maintaining and regularly updating company building plans, floor plans, layouts, drawings, schematic diagrams, etc. both in print and in electronic form. Additionally, the Senior Facilities Drafter has the responsibility for performing facility administrative services.

 

Collaborates with requestors on office configuration or MAC (Moves, Adds, Changes) needs and generates alternative options; evaluates alternatives considering customer needs, furniture availability, cost/benefit, and EHS/OSHA guidelines and prepares final draft / CAD Drawing Layout for requestor?s approval. Provides consulting services to other departments on their reconfiguration/remodeling plans. This includes collecting pertinent office space reconfiguration data, needs, and/or requirements; conducting space needs analysis as well as office furniture analysis; preparing AutoCAD plans/drawings/layouts; Assist the Facilities Engineer in developing construction work plans; identifying and scheduling resources required; generating cost estimates; projecting deliverables; drawing up timelines and completion dates, etc. Continuously maintains and updates company building plans, floor plans, layouts, drawings, schematic diagrams, etc. both in print and in electronic form. Responsible for performing facility administrative services and other clerical duties. Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.  Complies with the Medtronic Xomed Quality System.

 



Proficient in AutoCAD. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Power Point and Excel) as well as basic data entry skills. Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once and to work positively and effectively within a team model. Ability to make decisions and work independently. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Strong organizational ability. Good verbal communication skills. Good analytical and problem solving skills. Self-motivated.

Minimum of 5 years of architectural drafting experience. Applicable experience must involve providing facility architectural design and drafting services for large (>1000 employees) multi-site /multiple property locations. Experience serving as an architectural CAD designer for a corporate facilities department is a plus
