TECHNICAL SERVICE MANAGER (Dispatch / Customer Service), LEXINGTON

Our client specializing in security solutions for business and industry is seeking to fill a Technical Sales Manager position within their organization. The service manager's mission is to provide customers with a proper, quick, fair, quality response to their need. This position will be responsible for scheduling and dispatching Service Technicians to respond to customer service calls. Candidates should be adept at multi-tasking and have excellent organization skills, while maintaining a positive outlook and making sure that all activities are completed as timely as possible, and making sure that nothing slips through the cracks. Candidates should also be energetic, enthusiastic, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Should be driven to provide excellent customer service.

The person selected for this position will have managerial and technical responsibilities. Managerial duties will include: coordinate all service and repair work; schedule and prioritize service calls; set the level of and response time needed for the department; sell, coordinate and implement maintenance contracts; implement quality control standards for service personnel; implement work standards for service personnel; implement safety standards for all service personnel; facilitate accurate and timely service reports; maintain accurate inventory and warranty records for service dept.; resolve customer problems regarding service concerns and billing; attend regular manager's meetings; assist with interviews, hiring and termination of service staff; evaluate performance of service personnel and recommend changes to improve their skills and effectiveness; evaluate personnel for recommended advancements; work with subordinates and upper management to identify areas in need of change; promote corporate image; attend and/or support company exhibits at appropriate trade shows; evaluate future growth areas of the company.

Technical duties include: run service calls as needed to augment the service departments capability and capacity; coordinate and implement system upgrades with Project Manager; coordinate and implement lease and rental equipment; provide technical phone support to accounts as needed; provide technical assistance and advice as needed; identify manufacturing problems and communicate these to vendors for correction; responsible for maintenance of service vehicles; monitor and track company tools assigned to service department; develop and administer technical training programs; assist with product and equipment evaluations; maintain copies of keys in shop and on all trucks. This person will be available in shop during core business hours: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, M ? F unless in the field, other hours required as needed.

Selected candidates should have proven history in a similar industry with 5+ years of experience and must possess the following characteristics: good character, integrity, a desire to be fair, determination, imaginative, supportive, understanding of others? views, and be a good teacher with ability to communicate ideas and motivate others. Manager must possess a background of training and field experience to demonstrate an ability to understand products, equipment, and procedures used by the company. Previous background in electrical, telephony, telecom, HVAC or communications field helpful. Must be computer literate.
