SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Taxware is a leading transaction tax software company with a substantial in-house research team. Our clients are primarily large to medium sized businesses that have transaction tax collection obligations in the United States and throughout the world. We are currently looking for additional individuals to fill the position of ?Tax Research Associate.? In this position you will be responsible for researching, analyzing and documenting changes in state and local transaction tax rules, including law changes, rate updates, and modifications to tax remittance forms. You will also play a critical role in implementing such changes into our tax calculation and remittance products.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

The position of Tax Research Associate requires performing extensive on-line research as well as developing personal contacts with state and local tax officials.  You will also work closely with our Tax Technology team in ensuring that your research is accurately integrated into our software.  Success in this position will require excellent communication, interpersonal and research skills. 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

BA in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline.  In lieu of a degree, equivalent tax experience will be considered. Professional designations including CMI or Paralegal certification is preferred.
Experience with transaction (sales and use) tax preferred.

An ability to research and analyze complex issues is required as well as superior written and verbal communication skills.

An ability to manage strict deadlines and work independently, while following the required guidelines and procedures is essential.
