Technical Trainer

SUMMARY:  Under general supervision, delivers courses for training technical employees and/or customers in the use and/or maintenance and repair of products.  Is qualified to independently conduct training classes on most company products.  Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.  The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below. 

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Delivers courses for training technical employees and/or customers in the use and/or maintenance and repair of most products.

 Determines, with assistance of Project Manager & Sr. Technical Trainer, training objectives.

 Conducts and participates in technical and operator training programs.  May conduct training in-house or at customer location.

 Assists in writing training programs, including outlines, text, handouts, tests, and designs laboratory exercises.

 Lectures class on safety, installation, programming, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment, following outline, handouts and texts.



 Interfaces with internal groups and customer project teams and exercises decision-making capability.

 Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance.  Maintains records of training activities and employee progress.

 

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor?s Degree preferably a in technical field, or equivalent experience and two (2) to four (4) years relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of company systems/equipments and, two (2) years experience delivering and/or developing technical training programs. 

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications: MS-DOS, Win 95, Win NT and MS Office.

Knowledge of electronic and mechanical assemblies as well as wiring diagrams, schematics, and complex digital and analog circuitry is required.  Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment (DVM and oscilloscope) and experience with High Voltage and X-ray producing equipment preferred.  Must have excellent customer interface, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written, and be a creative problem solver with strong detail orientation. Must be capable of lifting seventy-five (75) pounds and be able to work non-standard hours and travel weekends.
