Job Description

The responsibilities of the Technical Writer include the preparation and editing of product and process manuals, technical proposals, presentations, and other documentation for grammar, style, format and consistency in technical accuracy; writing and editing technical and non-technical material; and supporting the sales and marketing staff with proposal development activities.  The Technical Writer may be given the overall responsibility to conduct validation and verification of all written materials for public and internal dissemination, with the subject matter engineers and occasionally with senior management.

 

QualificationsAS Electrical or Mechanical Technology degree or a BA in, English, Liberal Arts, Communications or related field and a minimum of 5-10 years of demonstrated editing/writing experience.Emphasis and demonstrated writing experience with Mechanical or electrical engineering subjects or semiconductor manufacturing, PV experience preferredSubstantial knowledge of the fundamental principles, terminology, and methodology of technical editing, style guides, and manual preparation; proposal; attention to detail; and experience working with collaborative teams.Background in technical writing and documentation preparation.  Marketing writing a plus. Comprehensive knowledge of grammar, writing, editing, style guides and documentation preparation processes.Self-starter with ability to prioritize workload, and work responsively in a fast-paced environment to ensure quality of deliverables and adherence to tight deadlines.Proficiency with and formatting and editing in MS Word, MS Publisher and PowerPoint required; Experience with other writing and graphics programs a plus.
