US Travel Manager

As the U.S Travel Manager you will negotiate all US based air and car rental programs, and will administer and develop travel policy. You will demonstrate the benefits of Travel Program. You will solicit observations, and supervise preferred hotel program management. You will ensure travel complaints are investigated and resolved, and will assess and identify service enhancements. You will determine whether the Travel Management Company is fulfilling its responsibilitis to Wyeth. You will establish measurements of their efficiencies of service, and will prepare travel department budgets and authorize payment of various expenses. You will manage an exempt travel services professional who will be responsible for: vendor relationships, implementation procedures, quality control, complaint resolution, reports and monitoring of expenses, etc. You will be accountable for performance reviews, salary recommendations, coaching mentoring and employee development.

This position requires a BA/BS degree plus 8 - 10 years ever increasing responsibility in travel management. Accounting/business background required. Must have at least 5 - 7 years experience in purchasing, materials management, manufacturing, or relevant technical discipline. Must have strong oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, coordination ability, cost management skills, analytical ability, and innovative and problem solving skills. The ability to handle complex source selection and negotiation situations is required. Computer skills: Word, Excel are required, as well as presentation strengths. Negotiation, research, and analytical skills are required.
