Shift Manager

(2nd Shift)

 

Key Requirements: 

Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and

experience. Excellent written/verbal communications skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel). TQM or

Continuous Improvement training. Experience with a computerized business system such as Legacy or AS400. RF bar code

experience is highly desirable.

 

The manager must possess strong employee relations skills, be customer oriented and self directed to get the job done.

The manager must possess a clear sense of balance regarding human and system requirements and demands. The manager

must effectively communicate his/her ideas and plan requirements.

 

Job Description:

The shift manager is responsible for managing warehouse employees and supervisors. Ensures that

warehouse employees are meeting the standards. Coordinates with the shipping office, customer service and traffic

department to get product out to customers on time. Resolves issues to improve customer satisfaction. Ensures all policies

and procedures are worked on a consistent basis.

-Manage the operations of the assigned shift.

-Ensure safety procedures are updated and followed on a consistent basis.

-Properly utilize the appropriate tools of the Management Operating System

-Enforce and train on work process execution, safety, quality and corporate procedures and policies

-Review employee performance on a regular basis.

-Develop action plans to improve processes.

-Work on improving the standards in the warehouse.

-Ensure all priority orders are shipped.

-Do measurements on areas of the warehouse to improve quality.

-Primary contact for all shipping issues relating pullers, checkers, and any other issues on the shipping floor.
