Spa Director - Top Salon/Spa and Growing

Salon at the top seeks cream of the crop?Habitude Salon and Spas was once again named one of the top 200 salons in the country.  As we continue to grow, we seek an individual who is passionate about the salon & spa industry, with previous experience in this industry and with a creative and entrepreneurial spirit with which to lead and grow a large team of massage therapists, estheticians, nail technicians and spa support personnel.  Located in two of the fastest growing and most desirable neighborhoods in Seattle, Habitude offers incredible opportunities for long term careers.

 

Primary Purpose:

To mentor and support your leads and your teams

Oversee the day-to-day operations of Habitude Spas

Responsible for financial aspects of the spa, including profitability

 

Responsibilities:Deliver the highest level of customer service while maintaining a high level of quality servicesHandle client challenges Be an expert of flowManage all recruiting efforts for the spasManage personnel interests of the team including hiring and separations, coaching, positive reinforcement, remediation, corrective action and disciplineUnderstand the importance of career pathing and assist spa staff in their own personal growthTrack each team members benchmarks by reviewing available reports and provide encouragement and coaching on achieving goals; provide team members with updated information on their performance towards achievement of goalsDevelop, present and maintain the spa?s annual budget within the guidelines as approvedFocus on reducing expenses and increasing revenues ? planning tracking, forecasting, implementing; recommend and help develop ideas and plansAccurately maintain stock and inventory control procedures while minimizing shrinkage, including tracking of purchase orders and maintenance of dept mins and maxesEnsure that Aveda products are being used appropriately in all spa treatmentsMaintain cooperation and teamwork, placing a high emphasis on customer service and satisfactionSecure and orchestrate ongoing advanced education & training for all teams and team membersDevelop New Hire Orientation and advance training modules for all new team members in your department and ensure that each team members is fully and adequately trained before they are scheduled for their first shiftCompassionate & concise; clear communication for team successDiffuse challenges within the team, be a problem solver & nurturerAct as liaison between staff, management and customersInspire and coachEnsure that the your team operates within Habitude?s philosophical and profitability objectivesMonitor and work to achieve department goals and require accountability from everyone on your team to also reach these goalsAbility to save the day ? cover shifts, enroll team in all customers being servicedTake care of your team ? love and amaze each other to decrease turnoverDevelop, plan, coordinate and carry out the marketing and in-house promotional plans, which will allow the spa to achieve its annual profitability goals; recommend and help develop ideas and plans to drive sales, planning and coordinating of in-house promotionsMonitor and control operating expenses to stay within budgetLead by example with professional appearance and conversationsSupport the Big Picture ? cheerlead, assist and infuse positive energyFacilitate flawless flow in the spa that consistently meets Habitude standards and missionMust be able to know and maintain an amazing atmosphere in all spasMaster scripts and systemsUpdate the menu to reflect service/treatment offerings in your departmentIdentify, evaluate and resolve problems in a timely manner, utilizing innovative ideas and sound judgmentDevelop or devise plans, policies and/or procedures to ensure the effective operations of the spaUtilize Habitude?s and Aveda?s development tools and practicesMeet with salon and spa leaders to strategize improved flowPossess and maintain the best knowledge of systems of the spa and the spa industry.  Responsible for the implementation and the on-going improvement of all spa experiences

 

Spa Director Qualifications:Be able to quickly problem solveExcellent management, negotiating skills, communication, organizational and computer proficiencyTeam player with strong leadership and supervisory skills, to effectively work with and manage diverse personalitiesCommits to ongoing learning process be attending advanced education classes and events as well as taking initiative to be his/her own mentorStrong sense of timeliness requiredFinancially oriented and proactivePlanning & time management skills to effectively plan & organize multiple tasks and accomplish goals5-8 years previous experience within the spa/salon industryManagement experience a mustSalonBiz experience a strong plus
