Paul Robinson 9
I've marked on current form and he's the league's best goalkeeper now. I can't see any weaknesses.

Gary Neville 8
Good tackler and organiser and better than people think going forward. Faces a great battle with Giggs.

Rio Ferdinand 9

The most composed English centre-half. Starts good moves and reads the game well. Doesn't seem rusty.

Sol Campbell 9

The most consistent centre-half in the Premiership for the past four years. A terrific defender.

Ashley Cole 9

One of the world's best left-backs with Roberto Carlos and Wayne Bridge. Would get 10 if he was 6ft.

Nicky Butt 8

Seems to be enjoying playing every week, which will make him better. Scored a lovely goal last weekend.

David Beckham 8

Should he play? Yes, all the time. Class is permanent and players like seeing him leading them out.

Frank Lampard 10

One of the world's best midfielders. He can do everything: shoot, pass, stop players. Just needs medals.

Wayne Rooney 8

A 10 against Fenerbahce and six last weekend, so gets an eight. Special player who can do everything with the ball.

Michael Owen 7

Has been worth a 10 many times but not playing much or scoring at the moment. Still one of the greats.

Jermain Defoe 8

Doesn't get many chances at Spurs but has made goals for himself. Good finisher and beats defenders.

Paul Jones 7

Has lost his place at Wolverhampton Wanderers but I know from Southampton that his big thing now is playing for Wales.

Mark Delaney8
I've not seen him much this season but he tends to be good getting forward and can defend.

Danny Gabbidon 7

Quite composed and quick but is in a struggling Cardiff side so I'd be surprised if he is on top form.

Andy Melville 7
Not the quickest so Wales need to make sure he's not isolated, but intelligent defender who can use the ball.

Ben Thatcher 7

Needs to keep his temper. Has good power, decent in the air and strong tackler. Can be beaten for pace.

Mark Pembridge 7
Solid and can score a great goal now and again. Still going strong. Must be something in the ginger hair.

Craig Bellamy 9
Finding form again. Grease lightning and likes to play with Hartson. Needs to get rid of the hairband.

Simon Davies 7
Would have got nine a year ago but hasn't played much. Good change of pace, workrate and excellent vision.

Gary Speed 9
Still brilliant and one of my football heroes. Honest and professional. You know you're alright with him around.

Ryan Giggs 8

Has been a 10 many times. A model for any youngster. A footballer with the ball and works so hard without it.

John Hartson 9
Will have the same pace at 45 but that makes no difference. Strong in the air, good touch and great finisher.
