We like base rate tracker products

Fixed rates have undergone repricing of up to 0.5% higher this past week; however, tracker rates remain unaffected owing to the Bank of England holding the base rate at 3.5%.

Current initial pay rates are looking more favourable than those of the fixed or discounted rates.

Consumers should look out for trackers which do not have redemption penalties and those which allow you to switch into a fixed rate, as these will allow you to remortgage without incurring a penalty should the base rate rise in the future.
