"We've not made the decision yet. The governors will be making the decision by December. We are modelling all possibilities, looking at the implications and risks. We will take a rather difficult guess how they [fees] best advantage us."

No decision on brsaries. "If we did introduce bursaries, they would be used in the target areas where we need to increase participation. The Sussex coastal strip is an underrepresented area".

Staffing. "Staff-student ratios are inappropriately high. We want to ease some of pressure points on staffing."

"We are starting from such low base-point that everybody recognises universities are under-funded. But there is no other show in town. I am not at all convinced that the Conservative Party plans are going to give any extra income."

B No. "The provision is very supportive to those on low income. They don't have to pay back the loan until they are earning over ?15,000. It is reasonably forgiving for those at bottom."
