Builder Products Specialist/HLI - 1773

Progress Lighting, a division of Hubbell Lighting, a leader in the residential lighting market, currently has an opening for a Builder Product Specialist. This position has the primary responsibility for overseeing new product development including product proposals with competitive analysis, price points, initial product release and 3 year estimated volume, profitability analysis, tooling costs and promotional plan and estimated costs.  Included will be to display and present new product ideas to Marketing and Sales decision makers. In addition this position is responsible for maintaining in-depth analysis of the residential lighting market, including ?market? size and direction, market penetration, product analysis and identification of market segments; and overseeing the transfer of new product information to engineering and production. 

 

This individual will participate in weekly product and product design meetings, oversee standards of quality with design and manufacturing, coordinate new product offerings with advertising and promotion and maintain complete competitive file of catalogs and prices on appropriate products. This individual will also review competition, attend trade shows and prepare reports, assist in maintaining Dallas and Corporate showroom installations of new products.

 

The position requires travel to the Orient to meet with vendors, review new product status with Mexico facility, maintain key charts and work with National Accounts projects.

 

Requirements for this position are: 4-year degree in Marketing or Marketing intensive curriculum.  Ideal candidate will have 2 years experience in lighting or other products in the home building market that are purchased through National Account Contracts. Background in Lighting, Plumbing, or other home d?cor products is preferred.  Field sales experience would be considered a plus.
