Director, Strategic Marketing

Biovail Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is a specialty pharmaceutical company, engaged in the formulation, clinical testing, registration, manufacture and commercialization of pharmaceutical products utilizing advanced drug-delivery technologies.

Key responsibilities and overview of the position:

Develop and Implement pre-launch commercialization plan of new products (NPP).  Prioritize pipeline products based on commercial opportunities and risks, and provided recommendation for development, discontinuation and commercialization.  Lead commercial assessment of in-licensing opportunities.  Lead commercial assessment of out-licensing opportunities. 

 

This requires deep understanding of marketing strategy and pre-marketing preparation for a successful product launch.  The person must be able to achieve the successful outcomes of multiple projects under strict time constraints.  Daily activities include sophisticated and complex market assessments, product-specific and competitive analysis, positioning, rapid and insightful assessment of forecasts, product promotional requirements estimation and budgeting.

 Experience/Knowledge:

At least 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, with proven past experience in Sales and Marketing.  Specifically having had launch experience, including market development, Opinion leader development, creative content, message development and medical communications.  Good understanding of forecasting methodologies, market research and secondary data.

Education:

Bachelors Degree required, preferably MBA
