Director of Product Management ? Digital Commerce

The Director of Product Management - Digital Commerce will apply her/his extensive knowledge digital marketing and experience in online and offline retail sales towards the development specifications of a world-class web analytics solution for the retail markets.  The ideal candidate will apply customer and business driven requirements towards the development of MRD/PRD documents, work closely with engineering on the development of new product releases, and effectively communicate product functionality via technical white papers and similar documents. 



RESPONSIBILITIES

 

? Set product vision, roadmap and strategic direction.
? Engage with sales, marketing, client services and customers to identify and create product requirements and documentation (MRD/PRD).
? Communicate and secure commitment on product releases from all relevant groups in the company.
? Partner with outside agencies and/or vendors to lead a profitable on-line marketing business
? Monitor progress of the product through the product development life cycle, identifying risks and opportunities, keeping senior management informed.
? Analyze market and competitive data.
? Develop technical sales support materials (e.g. white papers).
? Develop and document best practices.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

? Product management or program management experience with enterprise software and/or ASP technology products targeted at the Marketing organization.
? Experience leading and managing online marketing and commerce initiatives.
? Substantial working knowledge of the business analytics requirements for product line managers, merchandisers, CMOs and other pertinent management personnel.
? Working knowledge of modern business intelligence systems and tools (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects), including OLAP desirable.
? Strong leadership and motivational skills.
? Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
? Knowledge or experience in web analytics software strongly desired.

Supervision:
? This is currently an individual contributor position reporting to the Vice President of Product Marketing and Management.  There is a potential that this will become a people management position.

Required Education:
? BS/BA in relevant technical and/or business field (MBA preferred).

Interaction:
? This position is an internal and external facing position.  Ability to interact with and influence product marketing, engineering, sales and services as well as customers and partners is required.  Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams required.

Working Conditions:
? This position is located in a high rise in downtown Portland.  Travel is required and will vary but may be as much to 20%.

 

Location: Portland, OR
