Director of Professional Services & Support

Responsible for all operational aspects of the consulting team of Professional Services and Support Organization for an emerging information security software company. This individual will develop and manage the many aspects of tailoring the software solution to meet customer business objectives, including product configuration and integration, technical and operational training for client's personnel, and ongoing support after deployment.

The initial role involves refining the existing services plan and strategy and delivering Professional Services and Support to clients for an early stage information security software provider. This role includes pre-sales support, post-sales project management and implementation, and after sales support, as well as all aspects of business development and day-to-day operations of consulting services. As the client base expands, the role expands to building and managing the staff to deliver these services. Key success factors include the ability to deliver projects on time and on budget; hiring and retaining top talent; driving up resource utilization and margins; and working effectively with client organizations.

Job Responsibilities

* Develop the professional services and support strategy and plan
* Initially execute the plan for beta and commercial customers
* Recruit and retain a world-class services and support organization while driving service delivery efficiencies
* Build profitable, lasting relationships with clients
* Work effectively with sales, product marketing, engineering and support to align strategies & approaches
* Participate in financial planning activities, including proposals, pricing, invoicing, project contribution margin, and account contribution margin
* Build and maintain executive-level account relationships
* Establish solid references and success stories
* Travel frequently to meet with clients in the North American and international markets. (~30% of time)

Qualifications

* BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required. MS, MBA, or other advanced degree is desirable
* Proven track record with 10+ years of experience in software or IT services with demonstrable experience leading organizations
* Technical consulting and consulting leadership experience, either in a consulting firm or within a business unit of a corporation that provides services
* Proven ability to effectively troubleshoot client problems, develop creative solutions, and clearly communicate status/results
* Demonstrated expertise in managing client expectations by partnering with clients to understand and change business practices
* Minimum of 5 years of software consulting experience, with at least 3 years of project management
* Demonstrated multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and leadership skills
