Job Summary:  The Division Director will manage the day-to-day operations of the Product Development and Support groups as it relates to the financial and business position.  The Division Director supports the division vice president on a daily basis and reports and resolves key issues with corporate concerning the group.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.

 

Coordinates technical product development, estimates of potential profits, and release to production.

 

Participates in marketing analysis to develop product definitions.

 

Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.

 

Develops and maintains a prioritized list of customer and market requirements for product.

Create and monitor division budget and forecasts

 

Ensure timely and accurate department forecasts 

 

Perform financial analysis on forecasts; rolling forecasts and make recommendations on modifications prior to submission

 

Perform financial analysis on forecasts vs actuals ? provide feedback on variance

 

Monitor indirect spending within division ? identify potential concerns and determine cost saving opportunities

 

Maintain division annual plan

 

Monitor division metrics (PPIs, aging, utilization) and summary explanations

 

Respond to group and corporate operations requests

 

Maintain relationships with key clients

 

Identify new opportunities for customer support

 

Support department directors in implementing business development strategy

 

Critical Skills

? Bachelors Degree ? Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent

? 12-15 years experience in field + proven product development experience

? Understanding of business reports and a strong ability to analyze variances

? Familiarity with SAP/Oracle (Enterprise Application Software)

? Ability to optimize the use of available resources

? Budgeting and Forecasting

? Project Management Skills

? Management of a multiple software product portfolio and support team

? Extensive financial background in product lifecycle management
