Financial Analyst and Project Coordinator

Seeking a professional individual that will be responsible for supporting the Messaging Portfolio as a Financial Analyst and Project Coordinator.  The support will cover the portfolio of projects that are active ? typically ranging from 8 to 12 projects simultaneously.  This individual?s time will be split between financial and project management activities.

 

The candidate must be proficient in the use of MS Excel.  This includes using pivot tables and developing extensive spreadsheets to track and manage financial data across all projects.  As part of the project coordination activities, manipulating a large 16,000 data point spreadsheet to provide regular reports that can be used for further manipulation into MS PowerPoint presentations.  In this regard, this individual may be called upon to assist with specific projects in the pulling of records and developing reports from the data base.  If the person is adept a writing scripts to pull customized data reports from the data base, that would be considered a plus.

 

The candidate must be proficient in the use of MS Word.  This individual may be required to update project statement of work documents, communication plans, business cases, compliance plans, and other necessary project related documents.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are required to satisfy these responsibilities.  The candidate may be responsible for taking meeting notes and publishing agendas and discussion points for regularly scheduled meetings.

 

The candidate must be proficient in the use of MS PowerPoint.  This individual must be comfortable with creating PowerPoint presentations from scratch with only an idea of the message to convey.  Presentations may be used for Senior Management status reports for the portfolio projects.

 

The candidate must be proficient in MS Projects and server applications of MS Projects (EPM).  An initiative underway is the conversion of the portfolio project plans from desktop to server versions.  This person will be called upon as an expert to assist the Project Managers as the conversion to Project Server moves forward.

 

Candidate may be called upon to liaise with IT site or Business Unit leadership, and as such, excellent communication skills are required.

 

The candidate will need to be organized and persistent at following through on action items.

 

Specific Knowledge Required:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
Extensive experience with the server version of MS Project(EPM)
Project Management support and coordination involving simultaneous project activities
Familiarity with project development, execution, close-out phases and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to take ownership of a task and take complete responsibility for its successful delivery
