PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - 18927 - ND

This position will lead, manage or participate on product development projects that affect the National Account SBU.  In the leadership role, the incumbent must be able to perform/manage the comprehensive strategic analysis necessary to identify a targeted market opportunity and then have the capability to lead a cross-functional team to fully “operationalize” the product, thereby leveraging the maximum business/financial results.  In the project manager function, the incumbent must have strong project management skills with the ability to provide support to a project team. 

 

This position supports the goals and initiatives of the National SBU through effective strategic planning, project management, resource allocation, and by acting as a liaison among other areas within the company. 

 

This position is also responsible to gain thorough knowledge and understanding of High Deductible Health Plans in general, but especially those offered by the Enterprise. 

The incumbent must possess a thorough understanding of Project Management and Planning.  Familiarity and a thorough understanding of Enterprises project management system and policies is a strong benefit, as is a thorough knowledge of Enterprise processing systems supported by strong technical and analytic skills as well as a high degree of computer literacy. The incumbent must also possess solid business acumen along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 Working with the Product Development Director Provide support to National Account Sales through support of answering RFIs/RFPs, attending client meetings and supporting open enrollmentsDevelop and manage project plans, schedules and standards to ensure the department’s specifications and requirements are reliable, technically sound, and within budget.Participate in, and manage cross-functional teams that have Enterprise and SBU implications.Works with Product Development Director to identify, evaluate, and charter new initiatives during annual and strategic planning cycles.Works with East Region SVP of Sales to identify, evaluate, and charter new initiatives during annual and strategic planning cycles.Develop, analyze, and recommend specifications to modify or enhance current processing systems.  The efficiency and productivity of these systems has direct correlation on performance of the department and its impact on divisional performance.Effectively determine task and resource requirements for projects and allocate accordingly.  Ability to anticipate changes and modify plans and priorities.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project management.Proven team player who will work well with colleagues and provide assistance as needed.Quantitative skills needed for calculating critical paths, cost benefit analyses, and other project metrics.Broad knowledge and proven expertise of Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, and Visio.Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred.Travel 20-30% of the time (will mostly by cyclical and follow the sales cycle)The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience, with specific experience in health insurance, project management and consumer directed programs.
