PRODUCT MANAGER LAWN & GARDEN PRODUCTS

We have been exclusively retained to identify a Product Manager for a seasonal products manufacturer in the Lawn & Garden and Hardware industry.  This is a unique ?cross functional? team oriented company.  The primary responsibility includes the development and launch of new and existing products for strong market share penetration and profitability for specialty retailers, cataloguers, and internet based retailers.  The position will develop and maintain close working relationships with key customers, sales staff (internal and external), off-shore manufacturing, product engineering, purchasing, and finance to assure on time roll-out and introduction of products from concept, graphical application to production.  The Product Manager will provide detailed analysis on all competitive product offerings as a baseline measure on pricing, placement, and breadth of line.  The position will help to develop the product line strategy for expansion into new categories, while managing multiple projects, profit and loss for the category, SKU rationalization, and disposition of obsolete inventory. The position is responsible for leading product development efforts through the outside design and engineering firms, while overseeing product testing, approval and certification initiatives.  The Product Manager must be detail oriented, capable of prioritizing and working independently, while communicating daily with the overseas partners to insure timely execution.  Will plan, develop and coordinate all elements of a unified graphical presentation for product, point of sale, packaging, literature, and other materials in order to communicate added value to the trade and end user. The Product Manager must have excellent communication skills given their role in customer visits and trade shows, and experience in outdoor lawn and garden products.  A candidate should have a B.S. or B.A. degree with an emphasis in Marketing. An advanced business degree is a plus. The position requires 10 years of consumer products development experience, and 5 years Asian sourcing experience preferably in high-volume products serving the market place through multiple Lawn & Garden and Hardware channels.  Personal computer skills to include database and Microsoft office suite are needed.  Our client is the leading division of a NYSE listed company, growth oriented, and financially very sound.  The compensation package includes a bonus, full benefits and a relocation package.  Please send your cover letter and resume to
