Through its broad-based governance structure and an inclusive standards development process, URAC ensures that all stakeholders are represented in establishing meaningful quality measures for the entire health care industry
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Vice President GR & Product Development, the Product Director is responsible for managing URAC?s product portfolio. This includes developing, implementing and maintaining URAC?s products, and monitoring sales and performance of the product line. This position requires working closely with the marketing department, sales and account managers to ensure continuity in product offering and company goals. Emphasis of 2006 is to develop URAC?s pharmaceutical products. URAC?s ongoing product portfolio will include managed health care, managed pharmaceutical, and health information technology accreditation products.
Specific Responsibilities:
? Performs all aspects of product development, product changes and product promotions including development procedures, specifying components, product positioning, and pricing.
? Provide market and product analyses and recommend product opportunities, track and forecast market trends and competitive activities.
? Contribute to the tactical development of pre-launch strategies such as education, advocacy development, communications planning, and branding.
? Manage and communicate sales information and product changes internally.
? Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality or reduce costs.
? Produce, maintain and update annual forecast.
? Develop and maintain product database with product specifications, work closely with the standards department, standards committee, and other advisory committees as appropriate.
? Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to help facilitate the timely completion of projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
? Strong writing and financial analyst skills needed in order to produce documents and business plans in a concise and timely manner.
? Must be a self-starter who understands the need for detail in the midst of work being done within a much larger picture.
? Must be creative and flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities.
? Must be a team person who can share information, goals, opportunities, success and failure with the appropriate parties.
Minimum Physical Requirements:
? Lifting: Moving moderately weighted objects from one position to another.
? Fingering: Working primarily with fingers and the whole hand or arm, as in handling, typing, etc.
? Sedentary work in the office.
? Business Travel as needed.

Education, Training and Experience:
BS or BA degree in health care management or related field required, a Masters or MBA preferred. 5 years of experience with product development, preferably in pharma or managed care environment, is preferred. Must be proficient in managing vendors and developing tactical plans. Requires Power Point and Excel knowledge. Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills required. An attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines is essential.
