Product Manager- Boston Scientific

Responsible for the development of specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s) or product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies. Interfaces with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).

 

Designs strategies to maximize the profitability of product lines by collaborating with assigned staff, conducting market research and performing financial analyses.

Determines clear and specific priorities for the development of new products and product enhancements by defining customer needs and working with other internal functional groups.

Contributes toward the development of an annual departmental budget by forecasting future needs, utilizing previous year's budget, current objectives and budget guidelines.

Proposes the allocation of resources to assist in managing products' life cycle from concept through retirement by assessing needs and objectives.

Evaluates promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.

Evaluates strategies for product launches to ensure products are properly positioned and that brochures, sales sheets and supporting materials will launch products successfully and stimulate sales.

Makes recommendations whether product launches should proceed as scheduled when problems occur during clinical evaluations by weighing the risks against the gains.

Develops recommendations on translating data collected on customer needs into engineering measures to evaluate product's performance.

Develops recommendations on appropriate prices for new products and on pricing and positioning strategies.

Represents the company by visiting accounts in order to solicit feedback on company products and services.

Organizes physician symposiums by working with assigned staff in commissioning doctors to participate and working with internal departments to promote and schedule events.

 

Position Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus 2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Additional Information Additional Requirements:

 

? Previous marketing experience required.

? Previous pharmaceutical or medical device based marketing a plus.

? Consumer brand management experience will also be highly considered.
