Product Manager, Software

A wide range of applications benefit from Zebra barcode label printers, receipt printers and plastic card printers, providing enhanced security, increased productivity, improved quality, lower costs and better customer service.  PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

1. Coordinate and champion product development activities; negotiate design trade-offs with Engineering in the development of product specifications and test plans.

2. Work closely with engineering Project Leader to assure that products are developed on schedule, within budget, and meet functional and unit cost specifications, escalate/communicate significant deviations to management.

3. Prepare business cases and obtain management approvals for product development proposals.

4. Develop the Marketing Specification for new products, maintain its accuracy during development as necessary to capture design changes and trade-offs.

5. Coordinate, drive and manage product launch process, ensure that supporting organizations are scheduled and coordinated to deliver on time; i.e., product sales literature, service documentation, training, price lists, drivers, user documentation, software, etc.

6. Plan/coordinate the development of product enhancements to extend/maximize product life/profitability.

7. Assess customer and sales input/feedback to identify product enhancements and modifications.

8. Execute implementation of custom configurations when the opportunity?s business potential is determined to be appropriate.

 QUALIFICATIONS[*2] 

?  Good judgment and strong business/technical skills required to make complex decisions relating to product line/marketing.

?  High degree of initiative, creativity, technical expertise and strong leadership to make sound business decisions.

?  Bachelor?s degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred. 

?  MBA desirable.Bachelor?s in Marketing with a minor in Engineering or Computer Science discipline.

?  Minimum of 5 years business experience or related experience with demonstratedcapabilities in product management or technical project management.

?  Strong communications skills (both verbal and written) necessary.

?  Ability to juggle varied tasks

?  Must understand Enterprise Solutions that involve networking, servers, printer management concepts, SNMP knowledge in Windows and non-Windows environments. 

?  Application knowledge is required, card imaging application knowledge is a plus. 

?  Knowledge of security or encryption techniques is also a plus.
