PRODUCT MANAGER, TELECOM ACCESS EQUIPMENT



 



The Product Manager is responsible for all activities related to developing and driving the execution of comprehensive product plans that support the Company's leadership position in remote media gateways and emergency stand-alone products for the telco market, in alignment with the Company's strategic goals and objectives.  Responsibilities span the entire product life cycle from concept through development, launch, growth and succession.

 

DUTIES:

? Assist VP, Marketing in assessing external opportunities and threats, identifying market opportunities, and driving new product development and launches.

? Liaison with CTO, sales, engineering, operations, customer support, and customers to define high level requirements for products and features, market and technical specifications, release planning and schedules, acceptance tests, and benchmarking.

? Build roadmaps for current and future products, collecting business and technical requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

? Implement tactical plans with emphasis on market segmentation, product positioning, cost and pricing, messaging, and product promotion.

? After launch, monitor key product metrics; adjust pricing, strategy and campaigns as needed; identify, recommend and implement strategies to improve market position, improve quality and/or reduce costs.

? Develop practical recommendations to solve customer and distribution channel concerns.

? Train the sales force and others on the general functionality of products.

 

REQUIREMENTS:Education

? Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering

? Master?s Degree preferredExperience

? 5-8 years experience in product management and/or sales engineering for launch of new telecom access network products.

? Strong technical knowledge of VoIP switching, IP voice protocols and media gateway products.

? Proven success in partnering with cross-functional teams to bring customer and market centric telecom hardware and/or software products to market with complete solutions and multifaceted offerings ? on time and under budget.

? Experience in a telecom equipment growth company as well as knowledge of large company processes.

? Direct experience with rural carrier and OEM markets preferred.

? Superior written and verbal communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

? Ability to travel up to 20%.
