Product Mgr, Costpoint HR

People' Product manager job responsibilities:

Product Roadmap . Define the 1 - 3 year roadmap for the product that considers these inputs: Target industries and geographies . Industry trends (e.g. new technologies, market saturation, etc.) . Solution differentiation . Existing customer demands/requirements . Competitive pressures . Other product objectives/solutions . Conduct customer events to gather roadmap input . Plan (with Development) the evolution and uptake of new technical architectures within the product line.

Release Planning . Define release objectives and "headlines" . Develop business cases for release features . Write and review Business Requirements Documents with customers, sales, development, marketing . Reconcile desired release objectives and features with available capacity and prior commitments . Ensure completeness of functional designs.

Product Usability . Competitive research to understand existing "best practices" in usability. Customer research and studies to understand customer priorities and usability pain points . Usability benchmarking . Usability planning for new product releases, including the identification and delivery of usability "differentiators".

Competitive Analysis . Understand competitive landscape across multiple industry and functional segments . Understand products competitive differentiators (and weaknesses) vs. the competition and assist Product Marketing with delivery of this information to the field

Partner Management. Identify and engage companies that offer complimentary software solutions.

Sales Support . Work with Demo Organization to "design" and develop product demos . Engage with sales teams as required on individual deals to help them clearly articulate the value. Provide product demo support. Provide RFP support.

Detailed product knowledge of Costpoint HR and Payroll, PeopleSoft HR or other enterprise class HR and Payroll systems; Product implementation experience a plus; Product Design experience a plus. Experience in similar product management positions for high technology software companies a plus. Demonstrated analytical skills to apply marketplace research in the context of the company's product offerings. . Direct experience in gathering requirements and aligning product functionality and strategy for professional services firms or related markets. Proven ability to cultivate relationships with senior level managers and executives in companies and associations. Demonstrated ability to work with marketers, sales personnel, developers, and consultants in positioning products for vertical markets. BS degree or equivalent relevant experience.
