SUMMARY

Position will be responsible for all product regulation related activities for raw materials and finished products.

 
Conduct review of new materials for safety and health impact on finished product end users and manufacturing employees.  Assign in house raw material codes.
Ensure that new raw material information is posted per OSHA requirements.
Review regulatory status of raw material with respect to TSCA, CEPA, FIFRA, DEA, HAPS and others as required.
Maintain raw material database, including all regulatory information and new or revised data provided by suppliers.  Maintain hard copy files as backup.  Provide raw material data to central raw material coordinator.
Review master documents used to create finished product MSDS and labels for accuracy, and conduct investigation to correct deficiencies when noted.
Review of finished goods documents will also include verification of transport information determined by program.
Position will be key staff member for all intelligent authoring issues.
Serve as a resource to R&D staff for matters involving raw materials.
Maintain regulatory knowledge through various means and be proactive in implementing changes to document or systems.
Document all procedures, work instructions and records using the quality management system.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be knowledgeable of industrial hygiene and toxicology principles as they apply to both employee exposures and potential customer exposures.
Knowledge of intelligent authoring product document systems is highly desired.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor?s degree in basic science, master?s degree in related discipline would be beneficial
Minimum 7-10 years experience in product regulations.
Knowledge of paint products and related raw materials helpful.
General HSE knowledge helpful.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills a must.
