Job Responsibilities/Functions:Plans new products and follows procedures for:Estimating sales rates and floor display assignmentsDefining ordering parameters for lead time, orders frequency and safety stockAudits and maintains product reorder plans by:Balancing buying groups, and even flow of productsManaging SKU pick up and delivery rates, locking in assumptions, and executing buying plansAuditing floor display implementationMaking decisions regarding ordering parameters of lead time, order frequency and safety stock based on vendor and product performance evaluationsPlans discontinued product sell through strategies; including timing to replacement products, markdown pricing plans, inventory balancing and any product substitutions or other merchandising strategies neededCreates and distributes product information communications including new and discontinued product memos, price change memos, floor plan meeting agenda items and product placement spreadsheetPerforms vendor performance reviews monthly for quality, shipping, sales and margin performanceAddress current vendor issues, and manages vendor relationships (people and process)Cross shops local competition and evaluates competing values
