Research Analyst
The National Safety Council seeks a Research Analyst in our Itasca, IL headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research analysis on existing and potential Occupational Safety and Health training products.
- Design, execute, and interpret quantitative and qualitative analyses.
- Present conclusions and recommendations to Management on product pricing trends, product demand, competitors, and market movements.
- Identify existing and latent market segments.
- Analyze data on established and prospective customers across multiple industries to forecast product demand.
- Make market share and market size recommendations.
- Understand the scope of projects and executes necessary work elements. Design and execute surveys using survey software.
- Ability to code and analyze survey responses.
- Utilize statistical techniques using SPSS to analyze and interpret data to be used in actionable product research recommendations.
- Ability to use GIS software such as MS MapPoint.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Product Development
Requirements
- Two to five years experience in a Product Development or Market Research function is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Social Sciences or a related field.
- Excellent leadership skills are required to collaborate with Executive Directors and Product Line Managers.
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills along with careful attention to detail is vital.
- In addition, strong computer skills with experience working with Excel, SPSS, and Access are required.
- Knowledge of Crystal Reporting and SQL Programming is a plus but not required.
- Internet research skills are a must.
