Senior Manager, Product Management

This position will actively participate in establishing development targets, metrics, and processes to ensure our product deliverables match our strategic goals. In addition, responsibilities include participation in group-wide initiatives as member of management team, working closely with product development team, project managers and product managers in planning development activities, including balancing resources between new development and maintenance priorities. 



 

Key Deliverables:Management of all aspects of development scheduling and ensuring successful delivery of high-quality products that meet our customer's needs.Profit and Loss responsibility of high risk/high complexity energy services products to ensure maximum profitability and market success for Platts.  This entails product development and enhancement, cost optimization and continuous service improvement.The product manager will adjust the product strategy and tactics to address evolving customer, competitive, technological and market conditions. This will include adjusting product feature mix, target markets, pricing and service delivery to dynamically and optimally address customer demand.Identify training needs/opportunities for team, hiring, performance management, and ensuring an environment that encourages and rewards a performance-based culture.Work with product development groups, sales and marketing and make sales calls as required.

Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred.5+ years project management experience in successfully delivering on time, on budget projects; minimum seven to ten years related experience.  Successful track record leading or managing major projects and an excellent understanding of development processes and experience implementing an iterative development methodology such as RUP.Ability to synthesize multiple views on evolving customer needs, technology trends and competitive plans into long-term product strategies and roadmaps. Experience gaining support for strategy and working with cross-functional (and across business units) teams and/or external clients.Must possess solid problem solving skills, business skills, and communication skills. Must also have excellent relationship building skills, as well as strong leadership and team management skills.Experienced in multiple full project lifecycles from business development to final delivery and experience leading teams with multiple discipline representation.Position will be based in Boulder, CO and may require travel.
