Sourcing Specialist

BlackHawk Products Group, LLC, a recognized world leader in supplying tactical equipment to the military & law enforcement markets is recruiting for a Sourcing Specialist. 

 

Summary:  The Sourcing Specialist?s role is to manage the pre-production development of new products with suppliers in conjunction with Brand Managers, R & D and Marketing and to research and evaluate the sourcing of high quality, capacity-capable, strategically located new suppliers.  In addition, this position participates in the on-going daily supplier/product maintenance of the BlackHawk Products Group branded products.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

 

? Primary point of contact in managing the vendor relationship; responsible for communicating with the supply base on matters concerning cost, terms, production, availability, delivery, and vendor conformance to company requirements.

? Project tracking

? Develop and maintain timeline charts

? Master product list maintenance

? Product change request coordinator between BlackHawk Products Group and suppliers

? Coordinate product packaging and labeling

? Interact with Brand Managers, R&D and Marketing teams to develop new  products with existing or new suppliers and current product modifications

? Ensure that all necessary communication is completed accurately and timely with all parts of the company

? Have a keen understanding of the importance of brand integrity, quality and image

? Generate and track risk/profitability analyses, upfront investment, landed costs, and other necessary reporting

? Stay abreast of industry trends and research competition

 

In addition, this position handles miscellaneous and special projects as needed.

Education:  Candidate must have a BS degree in business or related field and/or equivalent experience with emphasis in business administration and/or economics. 

 

Candidate must possess exemplary problem solving, strategic analysis, motivation, project management, visionary leadership, effective cost analysis and budgeting, analytical and business acumen, be able to work successfully in a multi-project, deadline driven, rapid growth/fast paced environment while maintaining an eager and adaptable attitude.  Interaction and collaboration with upper and senior level management required.  Importing experience a plus. Strong knowledge of computer functions (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) a must.
