CONTRACT- IT/Operations Project Manager for new ASP Product Offering

Overview:

The hiring manager is looking for a strong hands on project manager, not a program manager, to manage two projects.  The first project involves developing the plan for introducing the new ASP hosting service into the financial services market place.  The background and skills he would be looking for is someone who has service development experience.  The role will involve marshalling the internal resources needed to make this happen.  The second project involves getting the data center/operations for this new product up and running.  This will involve writing the operations procedures, managing testing, and other operations related documentation.  Getting the right operations staff on board will be a large part of this position.

 

Note: While experience in an ASP hosting environment is not 100% essential it is defintiely a plus.

 

Responsibilities:To be responsible for the delivery of the ASP program to specification, time and budgetTo provide focus, development and leadership (US and UK based) who are delivering the project streams.To produce appropriate executive level management reports and communication to the stakeholders of the ASP project across the company.Work with the incumbent project managers to develop strategies to improve the delivery times, resource requirements and efficiency of the project streams.Responsible for directing and motivating the project team members, coaching members on any issues that arise.Monitor progress against the project plans, raising and managing project issues, reviewing project risks and initiating risk minimization actions, escalating any major risks and issues with the program.Assist and develop working relationships with all internal departments.

 

Experience Desired:Strong background of implementing projects of this size and complexity in a fluid environment, and in a medium size company with staff in the US and UKMinimum of 5 years experience in a project management role delivering enterprise wide solutions to clients.Experience of Project Management, using project management methods and processes with PRINCE2 or similar methodologies.Experience of working with a variety of staff, delivery organizations and partners including both UK and US  based staff.Experience of IT in the financial marketplace: retail and investment banking, securities, and insurance.Excellent understanding and experience of implementation of software applications, including familiarity with data integration issues, and ongoing operational considerations
