Electrical Engineer / Inspector

KJM & Associates, a leader in program and construction management, has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer / Inspector.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Through personal performance, performs the following categories of work/inspection to support electrical engineering projects.
? Monitors activities at major airport construction sites including installation, testing and inspecting of power distribution systems.
? Works to ensure construction progresses as scheduled and contract specifications are adhered to. Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments, maintain deadlines, and work in a team environment.
? Inspects construction site daily and works with contractors to schedule deliveries, follow safety requirements, adhere to quality and code compliance.
? Files daily narratives and progress reports detailing personnel, equipment, materials and work summary.
? Monitor and inspect the design and installation of electrical power systems, lighting systems, public address systems, fire alarm systems and various life safety systems in compliance with local and federal codes.

QUALIIFICATIONS

? Bachelor?s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering is desirable.
? A minimum of 10 years experience in an Electrical Engineering field with at least 3 years experience in Construction.
? Candidate must be familiar with standards of electrical design/ construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
? Prior experience working for FAA and/or airport experience is desirable.
? Must have a valid driver?s license.
? Microsoft Word and Excel competencies.
? Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
? Ability to qualify for FAA security clearances.
? Ability to read and interpret contract drawings. Knowledge and understanding of NYC Building Code and New York City Fire Code.
? Individual must be able to cover any work shift required including midnight and weekend work shifts.
? Must be able to pass a Federal security related criminal background check to allow for airfield access.
