Engagement Manager/Human Capital

job TItle:      Engagement Manager 2,  Federal Solutions

 

 

Primary Functions:

 

To expertly plan and manage client projects to achieve desired results.  This includes balancing client specifications for quality, cost, and time with resource allocations to meet project objectives. To manage the research, design, development and measurement of customized training system solutions for client organizations.  To proactively plan, track, and manage a project?s activities to achieve time, cost, and quality performance objectives for a given scope of work while using resources efficiently and effectively.  Also, responsible for proactive client and team communication.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

? Provide internal and external project leadership for client engagements for mid sized projects, delivering high levels of customer satisfaction within time and budget parameters.

 

? Lead the entire project team to meet or exceed client expectations

 

? Maintain client or capital project billable hours at 75%,  and travel as needed to client site or other division locations. 

 

?   Rigorously apply Forum?s standard process Project Management process throughout  the project life cycle. 

 

?   Be able to partner with the Relationship Manager in project re-scoping situations. 

 

?   Manage financials on projects from the initial scoping through project completion

 

?   Proactively manage client and Forum stakeholders throughout life of project. 

 

? In a variety of client and internal team settings, and lead the design and development of, all aspects of the learning system solution, combining elements from existing company technology, as well as modifying or creating customized/"ground-up" print and non-print elements as required.

 

? In a variety of client and internal team settings, design and conduct research, and design the project plan for the client learning system.

 

? From time to time, deliver the training system to middle and senior level client participants

 

? Design and implement measurement systems.

 

? Create long-term partnerships with client companies.

 

? Generate business in major client accounts, in concert with Relationship Manager or other consultants.

 

? Translate the client's business need into an overall concept or framework as well as specific, concrete options for a learning system solution.

 

? Support the development of winning learning system proposals and presentations, including both substantive and financial aspects.  Be effective with buyers that include middle to senior level human resource and line managers.  Differentiate the firm.

 

Organizational Relationships:

 

Major internal influence relationships with Account Executives, other Consultants and Associates, Publications staff and other Project Teams.

 

Major external influence relationships with core client team members, stakeholders, and audience members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Job Experience/ 

Environment:3- 5 plus years of experience in managing large complex learning projects.  Experience with linking learning to HR systems a plus.

 

Education:      Masters Degree in instructional design or technology, business administration, or OD related field.

 

Technical Skills:    Research design, data gathering, analysis and feedback skills; design of training systems, products, protocols and events; materials development, with very strong writing skills including cases, non-print development a plus; participant content teaching, small and large group facilitation, presentation.  Expertise in leadership development, performance management, change management, organization effectiveness/corporate culture.  Significant knowledge of Federal government environment, trends and issues.  Strong project management and financial skills.  Computer skills - word processing (Word), financial spreadsheets (Excel), and project planning (a.k.a. Microsoft Project) software packages

 

Selling Skills:      Proposal preparation, some presentation to mid and senior level clients; team selling;

 

Managerial Skills:    Maintain superb client relationships and strong internal team relationships.

 

Professional Skills:    Strong communication skills and presence, intellectual, curiosity and love of learning, high energy level, self-motivated and team player/leader,  passion for work, pioneering spirit.

Other:       Located in Washington, D.C. area or willing to relocate.  Federal experience or recent experience working with the Federal government a big plus.
