Grainger, a Fortune 500 company and the leading broad line supplier of facilities maintenance products is currently seeking a Federal Contracts Consultant to create and ensure the accurate execution of various Grainger GSA Schedule Contract compliance activities within the Grainger enterprise. This position is located in Northbrook, Illinois.

Major Responsibilities

*Overall responsibility will be to work with Grainger's business units to identify and evaluate Federal Government compliance gaps and to develop and recommend the most cost effective techniques to address these gaps
*Provide constant cross functional monitoring and oversight to ensure that compliance plans are being adhered to and manage plans to close the gaps while working with cross functional organizations
*Responsible for researching, developing, implementing and maintaining compliance plans and processes in support of Grainger's Federal Government business
*Process mapping the compliance activities associated with the specific compliance area and formally documenting and tracking the compliance process
*Work with cross functional organizations within Grainger to put in place compliance processes and if necessary, metrics to drive compliance
*Verify that that track codes used by Grainger are an accurate and timely reflection of customers covered by the GSA Contract
*Track the timely and accurate creation and submittal of small business subcontracting reports
*Create compliance plans with Supplier Diversity to ensure consistent reporting of supplier purchases
*Monitor adherence to the company's pricing policy for non-GSA customers, tracking compliance with that policy and preparing summaries for management review
*Track and analyze promotional prices to ensure compliance with GSA Contract
*Examine the accuracy of loaded pricing prepared by management and communicate price changes and supporting analysis to the GSA contracting officer
*Periodic review of Record Retention practices to ensure proper retention of information required to support the GSA Contract and revise and update guidelines where appropriate

Requirements:

*5+ years of Federal, State or Local government experience related to contracts compliance
*Experience with the General Services Administration's (GSA) policies is preferred
*Bachelors Degree is preferred or equivalent related experience
*Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
*Strong attention to detail
*Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision
*Manage time sensitive tasks in an appropriate time frame
*Handle large work load while maintaining high quality output
*Decision-making, process mapping and trouble-shooting skills
*Proficiency in latest versions of MS Office, Lotus Notes
*Experience with SAP and mainframe a plus
*Discretion when handling confidential documents and issues is a required attribute
