Financial MIS Analyst III, Property Ops Accounting

The Financial MIS Analyst works under minimal direction to formulate, define and implement system objectives.  Gathers, analyzes, and evaluates information regarding business systems, procedures, and regulatory requirements.  Analyzes, develops or modifies systems and/or procedures to solve complex problems considering system capacity and limitations, operating time, customer skill set, and form of desired results.  Prepares detailed requirements from which programs and/or reports will be written.  Provides detail specifications to IT related to property and casualty insurance accounting & billing functionality.  Participates in design, coding, testing and debugging activities for these functions.  Develops detailed test plans and test cases, and provides feedback to IT during testing and installation process.  May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project, working with other analysts and/or programmers.  Conducts post implementation quality audits.  Documents, researches, and resolves system problems and communicates status to affected customers.  Maintains assigned tables within systems, and updates or inserts new entries to support changing business needs.  Regularly provides guidance and training to system users, less experienced analysts and programmers.

 


Basic Requirements


Bachelor's degree in MIS, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience

3-5 years of professional experience in Systems and/or Accounting

Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS Project, SQL, and Lotus Notes

Solid understanding of procedures development, relational database design, development, maintenance, and system security

Proficient in documenting system requirements and all aspects of testing.

Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication skills

Detail oriented with excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills

Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines.


Additional Requirements 


Occasional travel required

Must be able to work extended hours when needed to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines


Preferred Qualifications



Knowledge of PMS policy administration system, Exceed billing system, and MSA or SmartStream accounts receivable system preferred.
