<b>POSITION DESCRIPTION:</b>




The Director of project Management will lead a team of (8) project managers responsible for the implementation of all products and services offered by our Trading Systems Division.  The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of project management methodologies and a solid track record of leading complex implementation projects.  The Director of Project Management must have experience in providing telecommunications related products and services to the Financial Services industry.  This role reports directly to Vice President of New York Operations.

 

<b>RESPONSIBILITIES:</b>

 

The Director of Project Management will act as a customer advocate, working closely with all project participants to understand and clearly articulate the customer?s business needs and validate that the implementation approach meets those needs. In addition, he/she must be able to recognize the need to  review project status, identify issues and make corrective decisions when required.  He/she must facilitate team interactions with management, and manage both client and internal organizational expectations.

 

<b>SPECIFIC DUTIES:</b>




Supervise the management of all projects from conception to implementation, ensuring that approved implementation procedures are adhered to during the life of the project.

 

Oversee the implementation of all installation related project activities, ensuring critical tasks are identified and target dates are achieved.  Identify and mange job related risks, identify opportunities for efficiency and resolve resource issues.  Ensure contracted solutions are delivered on-time and on-budget.

 

Participate in planning sessions to assist in determining project approach and overall time lines associated with project requirements.

 

Identify industry and company-wide best practices and recommend/implement project management process improvements.  Oversee and mange project management methodologies, including  specific policies, procedures and standards.

 

Verify that appropriate tracking, reporting and communication takes place to both the client and internal senior management team.

 

Motivate and build a high skilled and highly motivated project management team

 

Perform standard management tasks, including performance reviews, work assignment, hiring, firing and counseling.

 

<b>BACKGROUND DESIRED:</b>

 

A college degree is required.  Ten plus years telecommunications experience, industry background in financial services and trading floors, as well as project experience is preferred. Minimum of four years experiencing managing a group of project oriented staff.  The Director of Project Management must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. He/she must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working under tight time constraints.
