Initial 3-month assignment could develop into an ongoing position on either a full-time employment basis or consultant basis.

 

Prerequisites: Must have done startup ventures or successful startups within an existing company.  Min. of 5 yrs. experience required in the following areas: managing an import/export operation, developing distribution networks, strategizing and conducting negotiations on multi-faceted, large dollar volume contracts.  BA degree required, MBA preferred.

Job Title:  Import/Export Project Manager

Reports to: President  & CEO

Status: Option of either full-time, exempt 3-month position with possibility of becoming a full-time ongoing position or on a consultant basis.

 

General Responsibilities:

1.  Within 3 months complete product research and coordinate launch of consumer products ecommerce websites.

2. Exemplify teamwork and foster a team environment

 

Specific Responsibilities: 

1.  Develop business plans as appropriate for all strategic initiatives needed for the import / export business.

2.  Organize and manage teams of people and other resources needed for development of the import / export business.

3.  Identify suppliers, conduct negotiations and/or manage team members responsible for conducting negotiations with all suppliers for the import / export business.

4.  Coordinate launch of company ecommerce website and sales on third party websites.

 

Job Requirements:

*  Must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, having done successful startups within an existing company which was diversifying or in a startup venture.

*  Minimum of 5 years experience in managing an import/export operation is required.

*  Minimum of 5 years experience in developing distribution networks is required.

*  Preferable to have a minimum of 5 years experience in strategizing and negotiating multi-faceted, large dollar volume contracts or agreements, including planning and personally conducting complex negotiations over an extended period of time. 

*  Need to be comfortable working in a team environment, be open to learning and personal growth

*  Bachelor?s degree required; MBA degree preferred.

* Computer literate including knowledge of Word and Excel required.

 

Travel: 4 to 10 weeks per year as needed.
