Position Summary
Responsible for developing and implementing assigned components of the company-wide process improvement and management effort. Responsible for providing direct consulting, mentoring, and support for black belts and Lean Six Sigma Deployment Leaders. Train executive group, Green Belts, Black Belts, and the Lean Six Sigma Deployment team on the tools, methodologies and best practices of Lean Six Sigma. Develop tools and methodologies for Alliant Energy?s Lean Six Sigma program.
Job Functions
Leads Lean Six Sigma projects and initiatives, driving Lean Six Sigma breakthroughs throughout the enterprise. Able to manage complex and strategic projects across multiple business units.
Responsible for the development and delivery of the Lean Six Sigma training, tools, policies and procedures. May be assigned primary responsibility in one or more of those key areas.
Provides technical leadership to the Black Belts to assist them in achieving project success and personal development.
Trains and mentors of Black Belt and Green Belts in Lean Six Sigma.
Supports Six Sigma process improvement efforts by leading and facilitating cross-functional teams through complex process changes using Lean Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies.
Works with Manager ? Lean Six Sigma Programs to identify, prioritize and implement changes that result in improved process quality, financial results, and customer satisfaction.
Develops and implements measurement tools to assess process performance against established standards.
Ensures operational definitions and performance targets are based on customer expectations.
Identifies, leverages and shares best practices both internally and externally.
Plans, conducts, and executes projects using Lean Six Sigma methodology, project management, and project tracking processes and procedures.
Performs duties of a similar or related nature as assigned.
Technical/Job Skill Qualifications
A minimum of one year experience as a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a degree in engineering, market research, statistics, business, or other applicable fields.
Demonstrated expertise working with Lean Six Sigma principles and their application.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a high level of energy and sense of urgency about Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated track record of success in team coaching & business influencing.
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead process change.
Four or more years direct experience in systematic, formal process improvement.
Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Minitab.
Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and plan and carry out responsibilities with a minimum of direction.
Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
Expertise in meeting facilitation
Proficient in project management
Proven ability to conduct effective training sessions.
Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and process improvement skills.
Ability to multi-task i.e. work on more than one project at a time.
Ability to achieve desired results.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Physical requirements include sitting for long periods of time, finger dexterity, viewing a CRT screen for extended periods, talking in front of groups and hearing. Environmental requirements include working indoors.

Initiative: Able to bring about great results from ordinary circumstances; prepare for problems or opportunities in advance; transform leads into productive business outcomes; undertake additional responsibilities and respond to situations as they arise without supervision.
