Master Scheduler

Summary: The primary responsibilities of this position are to develop and maintain project plans, resource plans, and metrics for the information services department. This person is responsible to administer, maintain, and leverage the use of the MS Project Server environment and will take a lead role in suggesting and implementing improvements to the project methodology.  This person takes independent action to foster teamwork and keep peers motivated and informed.  Practices on-going self-development and demonstrates behaviors that are aligned with the information services department vision.

 

Responsibilities:

? Lead development and maintenance of project plans.  Responsibility includes ownership for the entire project plan.  Collaboration with Business and Technical Leads to develop project plans based upon the IS Project Methodology.

 

? Assist in resource planning of project plans within an IS Team or across the IS Department.

 

? Responsible for developing and reporting on metrics for the IS Teams and the IS Department.

 

? Work with groups outside of the IS Department to either incorporate tasks within IS projects or assist in project planning for non-IS Projects.

 

? Administer, maintain, and leverage the use of the MS Project Server environment.

 

? Continue to evaluate and recommend improvements to the project methodology.

 

Qualifications:

 

? Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required; business related degree preferred.

 

? 5 years experience in project management and scheduling required.  Project management certification preferred.

 

? Experience in MS Project Server administration, maintenance, and use.

 

? Experience in developing IS metrics based on industry best practices.

 

? Attentiveness to deadlines and the ability to handle a variety of tasks at one time.

 

? Clear understanding of software development methodology concepts.

 

? Strong organizational, leadership, written and oral communication skills.

 

? Ability to promote teamwork and gain respect among teams to achieve required results.

 

? Ability to deal with stressful situations in a composed and constructive manner.

 

? Proactively pursues his/her own professional development.

 

Working Conditions:

 

? Normal office environment; cubicle setting.

 

? Travel required (approximately 25%)
