Need a Project Manager for a Global Fortune 500 Company, Non Technical projects

Our client is a global provider of supply chain and logistics services. They are looking for a Project Manager, on a contract basis, to aid them with a number of operational projects.

 

Purpose of the Role:

Manage key projects to support the Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Management function.  Use project management methodology to develop plans for various functional projects including helping to organize teams, defining scope, developing detailed work plans, schedules, cost estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Administrate project meetings and perform tracking and analysis of projects.  Ensure adherence to quality standards and review program deliverables.  Provide guidance and oversight to project teams where necessary.  Communicate with SVP regarding status of specific projects ensuring they deliver results required by key stakeholders in accordance with project plans.

 

Key Accountabilities:

The Project Manager will ensure team members deliver on assigned tasks and escalate potential issues posing risks to the success of the project.  The Project Manager will also document project progress, outcome, and lessons learned.

? Organizational Interfaces include interaction with Management Team of the main corporation and the other business units.

? Assist in the definition and development of the overall project work plans.

? Provide event tracking, status reporting and analysis of key deliverables with coordination, communication, and development of detailed project requirements in conjunction with project stakeholders.

? Provide input on skill sets needed for projects and evaluate team members assigned to determine appropriate fit.

? Determine whether tasks are in or outside the scope of the project.  If outside, document and obtain proper authority.

Education:

Bachelor?s Degree required.  PMP (Project Mgmt Professional) certification preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years experience including project management. 

Excellent management, communication and organizational skills.

Experienced in the use of project management/planning software such as MS Project and proficient at MS PowerPoint.
