Planner/Scheduler, with Primavera P3e experience

ALSTOM Power Inc., Environments Control Systems (ECS) Division is a global leader in air quality control solutions for utility and industry businesses.  We are currently seeking a Planner/Scheduler for our Project Controls group located in Knoxville, TN.

 

The Planner/Scheduler will provide project planning/scheduling support necessary to enable Project Management to effectively manage projects.  To provide up front planning, updated schedule and cost information and analysis of Project trends in schedule and cost, thus enabling management to make informed decisions.  To provide Project Management with analysis and subsequent recommendations as to potential problem areas, possible work-around, etc.  To support management with recommendations on methods, core processes, etc.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 
Create project execution schedules (design, procurement, delivery, construction).
Support Proposal group with precontract proposal schedules (summary or detailed).
Support site construction activities with updated construction schedules and analysis, and interface with various Project Subcontractors to coordinate schedule integration.
Interface with clients to support their planning and scheduling requirements. 

 

Education/Experience:  Bachelors degree required; engineering or business discipline preferred.  Three to five years experience as Project Planner.  Additional experience in an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction environment is required.  Work experience with fossil power plants is a plus.  Qualified candidates must have Primavera P3e software experience.

 

Certification: PMI or AACE certification desirable.

 

Knowledge:  Specialized training on scheduling/project control principles and methods.

 

Skills:  Excellent verbal/written communication skills are required Good problem solving, as well as interpersonal skills a must.  Computer skills also required, including, but not limited to MS Office, i.e., Excel and MS Word.

 

Ability:  Ability to communicate well; ability to use project management software and spreadsheets; ability to listen, analyze, and make decisions.

 

Physical Conditions: Office work environment, site visits and some travel.
