Principal Operations Planning Consultant - KJD8244

I. Job Summary:   Advance executive level operations strategy development and
decision making by working collaboratively with operations senior
staff and strategic planning to create clear, actionable operations
strategies for the organization'sexecution. Manage and implement operation
 strategies that are large, cross-functional, and significantly impact the
operations division. Analyze operation issues, formulate recommendations,
present information and implement.Act as a consultant to the division.


II. Accountabilities:

 

Develop and manage processes for operations senior staff to set
critical cross-functional corporate operations strategies.
This is accomplished by providing leadership with development
process and tools, designing processes, and determining required
activities and timeliness.

Manage, track, and evaluate status and report to leadership the operations
business plan and progress. Determine what toevaluate, develop reporting
 tools and measurement methodology. Identify plan issues and work with
operations leadership to rectify.

Develop, implement and manage various operation strategies.  This is
accomplished through application of strategy development methodology, project
management, meeting management and group facilitation skills.

Evaluate and synthesize information, prepare reports, formulate
recommendations and strategies, and present
information to operations senior staff. Work with the operations senior
 staff to finalize actionable strategies.

Facilitate ongoing dialogue (both formally and informally) with operations
leadership to disseminate information, keep projects on track, resolve
issues, and develop consensus.

Support operations senior staff internal and external communication
needs by developing executive level and board
presentations, white papers, written reports; developing presentation
materials and speech notes on strategies and critical issues.

Coordinates divisional activities with the corporate strategic plan
and assures that they are aligned with corporate measures.


III. Job Requirements:

 

Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, or related field plus
8+ years related experience in consulting or project management is
required.  Master's degree is preferred.

Self-directed, ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a
timely manner. 

Strong leadership skills in project management and internal consulting
 with results orientation.

Conflict resolution, facilitation, and consensus-building skills.  Ability to
work effectively and confidently with leadership and senior staff.

Experience with strategic, operational and financial planning and
analysis.

Ability to analyze and resolve complex business issues. Ability to define
problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw
valid conclusions.

Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey complex ideas
simply, through written reports and presentation materials.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret business and professional journals
and government regulations regarding complex industry issues.

Ability to write effective presentations on complex topics to top management,
public groups, boards of directors.

Proficient skills using Microsoft Windows programs.

Work is conducted in a typical office environment, with extensive use of a personal
computer.  Deadlines are continuously very tight Interpersonal contact with management,
co-workers, and most senior level executives is continuous. Responsibilities
typically require sight, hearing, and speaking abilities.  Overnight travel is required
infrequently.
