Process Controls and Improvement Manager

The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) ? www.nyiso.com ? is a federally regulated, 501(c) 3 nonprofit corporation established in 1998 to facilitate the restructuring of New York?s electric industry. The NYISO operates the state?s high-voltage electric transmission system and administers the state?s wholesale energy markets.

 

Responsible for leading enterprise wide process improvement and control efforts in a Lean Six Sigma environment.  This position requires strong leadership skills as well as process and quality management knowledge including Business Process controls-continuous improvement experience.  Duties and skills include, but are not limited to the following:

Lean Six Sigma project leadership which includes effective execution of DMAIC or DMADV projects, change management and project planning experience.  Must be proficient in project identification and documentation.  Should have experience in enterprise wide process mapping and controls. Experience in internal audit, finance and IT/MIS systems will be a plus.

Lean Six Sigma methodology and tool expertise including definition and facilitation of business process modeling workshops to capture core and supporting business processes;  process/value stream mapping and analysis, tool selection and application, tollgate preparation and delivery, control planning and education of Green Belts and Process Owners on business process improvement methods, tools and best practices.

Must have strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to work well with people. Must be able to take initiative and exhibit strong self-motivation.

Experience:

7 years experience in a process/quality management field with a minimum of 3 years experience in transactional Lean Six Sigma. 

 

Position level will be determined by multiple factors including relevance, length, depth and breadth of technical skills, experience, and communication capabilities (both oral and written).

 

Education:

Minimum a BA or BS required, MBA desirable. Black Belt certification desired.
