Process Engineer

Description: Provides functional and technical in-depth functional analyses in support of project scope and objectives. Applies analytical skills to support process improvement, studies, and projects regarding, but not limited to, operations, intelligence, logistics, exercise, personnel, medical, training, plans, and requirements deployment. A senior-level professional, the Senior Functional Analyst is competent to work on the most complex projects and applies an in-dept knowledge of functional analysis concepts, practices, and procedures. The incumbent regularly works under deadlines and is capable of handling extreme workloads. Acts independently, with only general direction. Errors at this level may cause significant disruption or major cost to the Company. Incumbents regularly provide guidance to and assist in training less experience personnel.

Under general direction, the incumbent will be responsible for planning and conducting process improvement projects and for providing process related consultative services to our strategic business units located worldwide. The incumbent will work with all levels of management, employees and customers in developing and coordinating strategic projects geared toward improving service delivery and operational efficiency. Improvement projects will utilize best practice performance improvement methods ? including the effective application of Lean Principles, Six Sigma, financial analysis and project management tools.

 

 

REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Perform analysis, planning, establishment of requirements, functional modeling, development of procedures, development of functional architectures, and other related management and technical duties.

 

Analyzes user needs to determine functional and cross-functional requirements.

 

Performs allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships.

 

Analyzes problem in terms of information and conceptualizes and defines problem and formulates solutions.

 

Prepares reports to management defining problem, evaluation, and possible solution.

 

Provides expertise in the areas of operational requirements for information technology and national security systems, architecture development, information management, joint and combined military operations interoperability needs, development of acquisition documentation, including test and evaluation of master plans.

 

Interfaces with other departments in representing the customer in the course of conducting interoperability assessments and implementation of interoperability and supportability procedures.

 

Operates independently and react rapidly in a complex organizational environment with daily customer interchange and multi-faceted tasking while providing insights and independent thought and advice on interoperability areas.

 

Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge and compiles information into recommendations/analyses and participates in marketing presentations where application requires technical expert.

 

May conduct research for, or write portions of technical proposals.

 

May be responsible for instructing, directing and monitoring the work of assigned personnel.

 

Education and Typical Years of Experience: Bachelor?s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience. Graduate studies in a related field or certification in field may also be a requirement.

 

Minimum 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a functional area.

 

?Demonstrated experience in the application of Lean principles, Six Sigma and performance management in transactional processing environments.

?Sound project management skills

 

 

Specific Requirements: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

?Develops effective consultative client relationships with the strategic business unit managers.

?Consults and coaches as required to promote and enable operational performance management and improvement practices.

?Conducts assessments to baseline operational performance and to identify improvement opportunities. Develops project proposals.

?Plans and conducts performance improvement projects.

?Communicates project status and provides documentation as well as generate any other reports requested or required by the client and management.
