Program Manager 1, Operations

Please read before applying - candidates in this role should have 1-3 years of overall professional experience with some exposure to Project Management.  PC industry experience is not required.

Summary:  Program Manager 1 position driving new retail and international bill of material content using Gateway's Agile system and processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Collect, process, and maintain product feature set data

2. Project coordination of all BOM related activities throughout the quarterly launch time frame of retail and international business units.

3. Work with NPI teams to communicate risks and status for cycle setup of all skus

4. Create all sku level BOMs for retail and international skus and ensure that they all meet the minimum requirements for buildability (configurations are valid and complete, current BIOS is available, current SW features are available, packaging requirements are defined).

5. Identify any new feature requirements for upcoming quarters in a timely manner and begin setup of the new feature to incorporate into skus.

6. Throughout retail cycle project manage all BOM changes, approve all CCOs before production, and provide final mass production signoff on bom contents.

7. Review ODM boms against Gateway requirements.

8. Support overseas ODMs and the retail ODM manager during off hours as agile or BOM issues arise.

Requirements/Qualifications/Skills:

1. Problem Solving: ability to provide logical analysis of a problem or situation with a bill of materials and provide direction to cross functional team for timely resolution.

2. PC HW knowledge required.  Understanding differences such as DDR and DDR-II memory and how specific components can and can?t go together using engineering related documents as input is required.

3. Data management in MS Excel required.  Knowledge of Pathfinder, Filemaker or other databases a plus.

4. Multitasking ability required.  Position will require managing 50-200 different boms within the same time frame and keeping track of changes from BU to ensure they are getting input into the system.

5. Ability to work through heavier workload and hours at beginning of quarterly cycle.

6. Strong knowledge of Agile system a plus.

Education/Certification

1-3 years business experience
