About the Program Manager Position

Infospace Mobile is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual with a strong background in software development to provide program management leadership to the Portal Services Mobile Application team. The Mobile Application team is responsible for designing, developing and deploying industry leading mobile content applications to wireless carriers worldwide. This person will be responsible for managing and communicating the priorities across the entire team. He/she will also directly manage numerous projects throughout the entire software development life cycle with accountability to all levels of management for results. The ideal candidate must possess a take charge attitude and a strong ownership mentality.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
?Directly manage project managers and functional analysts within the Portal Services Mobile Applications team.
?Own managing and communicating priorities across the Portal Services Mobile Application team (consisting of 15 application developers, functional analysts and project managers).
?Provide leadership to the Portal Services Mobile Applications team by driving new processes and establishing best practices in the areas of program management, project management, application development/support and release management.
?Work closely with development managers to design and architect mobile applications
?Take ownership in driving application development through every stage of the product life cycle (requirements, feasibility, design, development, QA, deployment, and sustainment).
?Develop and manage project schedules and milestones including setting clear expectations and meeting commitments.
?Assist product management and sales in the prioritization and scheduling of projects by presenting cost/delivery estimates and solution options that tie to measurable business drivers.
?Communicate project status, issues and risks to executive management, business unit/operations managers, and team members.
?Provide technical project management across multiple simultaneous projects.
?Support production issue resolution by providing functional expertise and leadership.
Qualifications:
?5-10 years project management experience in a software development environment
?5 years experience gathering business requirements and turning them into use cases and detailed functional design specifications
?3-5 years experience designing and architecting software solutions
?3-5 years direct management experience
?Strong desire to manage multiple priorities in a high energy, fast paced and dynamic working environment
?Ability to creatively solve challenging business/technology problems
?Strong analytical, testing and problem solving skills in addition to excellent inter-personal, written, and verbal communication
?Software development experience on Windows preferred with exposure to HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.Net, WEB Services, .Net, XML
?BA degree
?CS degree or related experience preferred
?Wireless experience preferred
?PM certification and / or MBA preferred
